Privacy

Your schoolwork belongs to you.

Putting your classes, notes and assignments in one place makes privacy more important, not less. Here's how Carpeta handles your schoolwork, in plain language.

No account. No profile.

Carpeta doesn't ask for your name, email address, school, date of birth, phone number or home address — not to sign up, and not later. There's no account to create.

Because that information is never collected, there's no student identity profile and no account database linking your schoolwork to who you are.

Your notes stay on your devices.

Binders, notes, handwriting and drawings stay on your devices during normal use. Carpeta doesn’t keep a server-side library of your notes.

You own what you create. Using Carpeta, including its AI features, never transfers ownership of your notes to Carpeta.

AI only when you ask.

AI features — explanations, summaries, practice questions, flash cards and tutoring — run only when you choose one. Your notes aren't sent anywhere just because they exist in Carpeta.

When you do use one, the content needed for that request is uploaded securely to Carpeta's private storage, kept for no more than 24 hours, and then deleted automatically. It isn't backed up, and note content isn't written to Carpeta's logs.

The AI provider is configured not to store requests or responses, and neither Carpeta nor the AI service uses your notes to train AI models.

What Carpeta does keep.

Some AI features need a subscription. To run them, Carpeta keeps only the technical information needed to check that a subscription is active, apply usage limits and prevent abuse. It isn’t used to identify you or advertise to you.

Purchases are handled by Apple. Carpeta doesn’t receive or store your payment card details.

What Carpeta won't do.

Carpeta doesn't sell student notes or personal information, doesn't use your notes for advertising, and doesn't try to work out who you are from what you write.

For parents and guardians.

Carpeta is built for secondary-school and post-secondary students, and its privacy model means the app never needs to know who the student is.

Notes are free-form, so a student can still choose to write their own name or school into a note. It's worth reminding them to leave personal details out of anything they send to an AI feature.

This page summarizes Carpeta's privacy practices. The Privacy Policy is the complete, authoritative version.
